The Assessing Department is responsible for the following:
Determining the Value of Properties in the City of Plymouth
The Assessor determines the value of all real and personal property in the City every year.
Adjusting Property Value
Assessments may change based on factors such as an addition to a structure, damage by fire, etc. Property owners are responsible for reporting any changes that affect values.
Providing Assessing Information to Property Owners
Property owners may inquire about their assessments and attend a Board of Review to request a change. By state law, all property is required to be assessed at 50% of the true cash value as of December 31. Tax bills are determined by multiplying your taxable value (not assessed value) by the local millage rates.
