Municipal Services to brine streets in advance of storm
Published on Jan 10, 2025 10:37
First Responders from the Department of Municipal Services are currently placing a brine solution on the City's Major Streets and Municipal Parking Lots. The brine solution is being placed in advance of the National Weather Service's predicted snowfall later today. The brine solution will help prevent a bond between the pavement and the falling snow/ice, and it will help activate road salt when it is applied once the snow begins to fall.
Drivers are reminded of a new state law that police will be enforcing, that requires drivers stay back a minimum of 200 feet from any working municipal salt/brine/plow truck that has its emergency lights activated. For more information on this new law click on this link and go to page seven of the January Plymouth Pulse Newsletter.
It is anticipated that more updates on local road conditions will occur as the winter storm begins to affect the City. Persons with questions on this report should contact the Department of Municipal Services at [email protected]. The National Weather Service is predicting upwards of three inches of snow to fall with the approaching storm and we have a Winter Weather Advisory starting at 1:00 p.m..
