City Commission Meeting Summary - March 7
Published on Mar 8, 2022 19:17

The Plymouth City Commission approved emergency repairs to the City's Vactor Truck at the March 7, 2022 regular meeting. In December of 2021, a hydraulic leak took the truck out of service. While making the repairs to the City's truck, Vactor dealer Jack Doheny of Northville loaned the City a rental truck at no charge. The cost of the emergency repair was $10,488.71. Repairs have been completed and the truck is back in the City's fleet.

The City Commission approved an intergovernmental agreement between the City and the Wayne County Park Millage Funds. The agreement allows the City to use grant money from the county for improvements to recreation facilities. This year, $20,146 is planned to be used for lighting improvements to the exterior of the Plymouth Cultural Center.

The City Commission authorized the acceptance of $120,000 from the Post Local Bistro for payment-in-lieu-of-parking. The Post has received approvals from the Planning Commission and Historic District Commission to expand and improve their dining facilities and has agreed to pay $10,000 to the City's parking fund for each of the 12 parking spaces that would otherwise be required by ordinance.

The City Commission approved Traffic Control Order No. 21-5 at Monday's meeting. The approval keeps a no parking zone on the north side of Wing Street between S. Harvey and Jener.

Other items of note from Monday's meeting included the presentation of the annual report on trees, the approval of an update to the City's Investment Policy, the approval of the Plymouth Community Band Concerts Thursdays in June and July in Kellogg Park, and the appointment of Meghan Covino to the Historic District Commission.
