City of Plymouth

Has declared a

SNOW EMERGENCY

In effect from 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2022 through

4:00 p.m., on Thursday, February 3, 2022

The City Manager has declared a Snow Emergency for the City of Plymouth in accordance with the City’s Snow and Ice Control Policy and City Ordinances related to the public parking system.

This means that the parking of a motor vehicle on a public street in the City of Plymouth shall be prohibited during the time of the declared snow emergency.    This includes, in accordance with the rules, a prohibition of parking on public streets for vehicles which have an overnight parking permit.  Vehicles are not allowed to park on the street during a snow emergency.

Department of Municipal Services will be working throughout the night and there is a need to keep vehicles off of the streets during snow plowing operations.  Residents and property owners are reminded to not blow, shovel, or push snow back into the streets, especially once they have been plowed.  Doing so, is a violation of City Ordinance and will create a liability for the property owner.  Snow should be stockpiled on the tree lawn area or the area between the sidewalk and the curb.

Our goal in declaring a snow emergency is to clean the streets, not to write violation tickets.  However, the City of Plymouth Police Department may issue violations to any vehicle that is parked on a City Street during this time.

Residents may visit the City’s website at www.PlymouthMi.gov for additional information and to register for the City’s E-Newsletter.
