Sidewalk and Road Patch Update
Residents in the southwest area of town have probably seen the City’s sidewalk contractor working on removing and pouring sidewalk sections over the past couple weeks. While that work continues this week, the contractor will not have any sidewalk sections removed that cannot be poured back prior to Halloween. There will likely be some cones and barricades on sections of sidewalk that were recently poured, and while those will be safe to walk on while Trick or Treating, we ask that parents help keep a cautious and watchful eye in those areas.
The contractor is also working on some curb repair in the downtown area, as well as some road patches. The curb work in the downtown are small in area, but will be block and potentially cause a couple parking spots to be unavailable for a couple days. There will be barricades marking those areas.
The most significant road patch is on Deer St. and will require a minor detour. Crews will be out today and tomorrow on Deer St. and will be closing and detouring between Ann Arbor Trail and Maple. It is anticipated that by the end of each day, traffic will be allowed to travel north on Deer st. without restriction; however, southbound traffic will be closed on Deer between Ann Arbor Trail and Maple. Signs will be posted directed motorists to use Main St. as the detour for the next week while the concrete cures. Crews will also be performing minor road patches on Hamilton north of Ann Arbor Trail and other surrounding areas, which will not impact traffic nor create detours.
