City Commission Meeting Summary - March 15

The Plymouth City Commission approved a contract between the City of Plymouth and Shaw Construction to replace the fountain in Kellogg Park at its regular meeting held on Monday, March 15, 2021. The new fountain is being funded by the Wilcox Foundation and is designed by Outside the Lines. Shaw Construction will be responsible for site preparation, restoration and site management. Construction on the Wilcox Fountain is expected to begin this spring.
The City Commission approved two events at Monday's meeting. The first approved event is the Knights of Columbus Annual Tootsie Roll Drive to be held in Downtown Plymouth March 26 through March 28. The second approved event is the Plymouth Historical Museum's Ghosts of Plymouth Walk to be held in Old Village on April 24.
Also at Monday's meeting, the Michigan Independent Citizens Redistricting Commission's (MICRC) Executive Director Suaan Hammersmith presented the City Commission an administrative update on Michigan's new redistricting process.
