Published on Feb 15, 2021 08:35
As of 8:30 a.m. all of the City's Major Streets have been plowed and treated with a combination of liquid brine and road salt. As a result, drivers can expect that the City's major streets are now have some slush as the snow melts. Crews are continuing their work and the snow continues to fall at this time. Residential side streets are snow covered and slick and caution is advised.
Major Streets that have been treated with a brine/salt mixture include, but are not limited to; Main Street, Farmer, Starkweather, Penniman, and Ann Arbor Trail.
The Central Parking Deck has been plowed and treated, but caution is advised as it is an elevated surface and just like bridges and overpasses they tend to ice over quickly during winter weather.
Additional snow is expected during the morning hours and then again in evening through the overnight. The National Weather Service is predicting that tonight's snow will be significant and people should be prepared for heavy snowfall.
