City Road Conditions as of 8:00 a.m.
Published on Jan 2, 2021 08:14
The City Department of Municipal Services is currently spreading road salt on the City's Major Streets. The city has received a mix of snow, ice and sleet overnight and as a result side streets are snow/ice covered. The City's Major Streets including, Main Street, Farmer Street, Penniman, Ann Arbor Trail, Starkweather and Harvey are having salt applied at this time.
Morning walkers are advised to use caution as sidewalks also have a mix of snow and ice on them. Downtown sidewalks for the most part have been treated with a deicing material and they are in good condition.
Drivers should be aware of possible icing conditions on elevated areas, even if they have been treated. Elevated areas like the Central Parking Deck, bridges and overpasses all have a tendency for icy conditions. Use caution on these surfaces.
Temperatures in Plymouth are currently 34 degrees and are expected to rise to 36 later today. Salt is highly effective at these temperatures. However, caution is still advised on snow/ice covered roads and sidewalks.
